“Wo-Wa” Charging Curve characteristic
(din 41774)

The charging curve of this model is Wo-Wa (two-stage decreasing current charging for fast charging), which complies with DIN41774.

The Wo-Wa charging curve, is characterized by a decreasing trend of charging current as the battery voltage increases.

In order to achieve adequate battery charging, the charger must be able to provide a charging curve as close as possible to the theoretical charging curve, which involves an initial charging current of 20% of the battery capacity and a decreasing trend, as shown above.

With this type of charger with a standard Wo-Wa curve (DIN41774), the required charging current should be determined by calculating 20% of the battery capacity in ampere hours (Ah) (for example: for a 600Ah battery, a 120A charger is used).

The charging cycle as prescribed by the curve lasts between 7-9 hours (with 80% discharged battery), so it is particularly suitable for daily double-shift charging.

Saving 2 hours of charging time, it is possible to carry out two charging cycles during the working day, which is not possible with the similar Wa model.

For better battery performance it is advisable to adapt the CB in question of Air Mix pump (optional).
